An exclamatory sentence conveys a strong emotion and ends with an exclamation mark (!). An exclamatory sentence, or exclamation, is a more forceful version of a declarative sentence. In other words, an exclamatory sentence makes a statement (just like a declarative sentence), but it also conveys excitement or emotion. An exclamatory sentence makes a statement that conveys strong emotion or excitement. 'Oh granny, what big teeth you have!' That's an English exclamatory sentence—an EXCLAMATION. It is one of the four sentence types. Note that an exclamatory sentence does not necessarily require an interjection. Show some emotion in your sentences!
